Be a part of an exciting data transformation journey within GE Aerospace. On our Digital Technology team, you'll have a hand in designing, deploying, and maintaining technologies and systems to address the ever-changing needs of our customers and business.
Roles and Responsibilities
In the 12-month Cyber Security Placement, you will be placed within the UK Cyber Security team and assist with protecting the Aviation Systems UK business from advanced Cyber threats. Hands on experience and knowledge working in a Security Operations Centre, being part of the team that monitors, prevents, detects, and responds to cyber threats to the entire business at the
Cheltenham site.
You will build on your knowledge and hands on experience on each 2-month rotation, working with specialists the following areas
- Threat intelligence gathering
- Vulnerability management
- Insider threat
- External threat
- Cyber tooling and threat signature detection engineering
Other learning opportunities will be presented during the internship to include malware & PCAP analysis, digital forensics, hacking fundamentals, network intrusion and python coding.
You will be guided by structured goals and objectives and will have responsibility to deliver on inspiring projects supported by your People Leader and team around you. We will guide you throughout the year to ensure you make the best of your GE Aerospace experience. Your People Leader will offer coaching and mentoring, and you will be provided with the opportunity to connect with other placement students across the UK.

Due to the nature of work, some of these roles are restricted to candidates who are a British National, or a dual National where one of the dual nationalities is British subject to any restrictions. Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements for UK Security Clearance will therefore not be eligible for some of our roles on grounds of national security. If UK Security Clearance is not obtained for some roles, any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
Requirements
- Currently studying Cyber Security bachelor's or integrated master's degree (such as Computing and Cyber Security, Cyber Security and Forensics)
- On course a 2.1 degree or above
- Passionate about Cyber Security
