Job description

The Kraken Utilities team is in a very exciting growth phase, and has already signed six key clients: Severn Trent, Leep, Portsmouth Water, Essential Energy, TalkTalk, and Cuckoo. We are currently 120+ people strong globally. About the team You'll join the KFU Data Analytics team (currently 6 people). This team builds the data foundations and insights behind Kraken Utilities, working closely with product teams and clients to shape how data is used across Telco. It's a hands-on analytics engineering team with real ownership and impact. The team works closely with:

  • Product Managers in Telco
  • Client delivery teamsData Engineering & Platform teams
  • ML & AI teams (including client-facing AI initiatives)

Ways of working:

  • Daily 15-minute stand-ups
  • Weekly planning & periodic retros
  • Async-first mindset (with a hybrid London setup)
  • Strong PR culture with collaborative reviews, * Build and maintain analytics data models using dbt, turning complex Kraken data into trusted, usable datasets
  • Write advanced SQL every day to support data modelling, analysis, and real product and client questions
  • Create dashboards and metrics that help Telco teams understand performance and make better decisions
  • Align closely with Product Managers and Engineers to define metrics and shape insight
  • Work directly with Kraken's Telco clients, helping them navigate complex data models, answer real business questions, and represent Kraken confidently in data conversations
  • Be part of a supportive client-support rota, handling incoming data questions with growing independence
  • Collaborate in a Git-based workflow, contributing clean, well-reviewed code in a fast-moving team

Requirements

Do you have experience in Tableau?, * Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and window functions

  • Hands-on experience using dbt in a real production environment
  • Experience building dashboards that are used by real stakeholders
  • Familiarity with a modern data warehouse (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar)
  • Confidence working with Git and collaborating through pull requests
  • Ability to explain data clearly to non-technical stakeholders, * Client-facing or stakeholder-heavy analytics experience
  • Experience with Lightdash, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Exposure to Telco, utilities, or complex data domains
