Job description

  • Design and build well-crafted, resilient applications that are continuously tested and remain highly performant at scale and secure in production.
  • Work as part of a cross-functional Agile team, taking ownership of your work, whilst also collaborating through pair programming and mentoring developers.
  • Contribute to the team's technical direction and help enhance its tools, workflows and engineering practices.
  • Ensure all code written has appropriate and relevant test coverage and partake in code reviews within your squad and across the department.
  • Work with stakeholders to elicit requirements, break down work into smaller items and ensure there is enough information available to progress with development
  • Champion high engineering standards and bring a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation to what you build.
  • Bring a passion for automation and simplifying processes to optimise feature delivery
  • Take an active role in key team activities such as planning, estimation and refinement.

Requirements

Do you have experience in TypeScript?, * Solid commercial experience and demonstrable understanding of JavaScript/Typescript, PHP, with experience in applying OOP paradigms in building containerised scalable applications

  • Experience working with the Symfony framework would be beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of React and modern frontend development practices.
  • Testing framework experience, i.e. Playwright and experience of testing methodologies, including unit-testing.
  • Strong understanding of web architecture, including performance, scalability, security, and resilience, with experience optimising web applications.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud. For example, experience with Terraform or CDK
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. CircleCI, Octopus Deploy), orchestration and containerisation technologies (Kubernetes, Docker),
  • CDN/edge platforms such as Akamai would be beneficial.
  • Comfortable working within Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean, Kanban), with a collaborative mindset, ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to explain and challenge ideas and enthusiasm for innovation, to push for new improvements across the code base and influence/learn from a community of engineers
