Job description
As a Data Migration Analyst, you will lead the field-level data mapping and transformation from legacy Policy Admin System (PAS) to the target Verisk Eclipse/Claims system and supporting programs.
Your role will involve creating, releasing, and unit testing migration code for each of these data migrations, including:
- Developing SQL logic to support transformation and validation of policy and claims data
- Supporting reconciliation during test and cutover phases
- Working closely with QA and TO SME to validate outputs
You will be working immediately with the technical lead on the project and report into the Data Migration PM. You will be required to have strong collaboration with Business and IT Project Managers, a Test Manager, and Change Readiness teams.
The role would suit a delivery focused Data Migration Analyst who enjoys working through the challenges of large-scale transformation delivery., * Data Migration Framework: Collaborate with the Data Migration Lead, external providers, and in-house developers to design, implement, and execute the Data Migration Framework (DMF).
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the Data Migration team in meetings with senior stakeholders.
- Code Development: Generate migration code using SSIS and TSQL, ensuring compliance with TMHCC standards.
- Review Mapping Documents: Provide positive & constructive feedback
- Code Management: Maintain code and release processes according to TMHCC standards.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Become the main developer and subject matter expert (SME) for source system data identified in all systems in within Surety Part 2 migration projects.
- Support Migration Execution: Assist in the execution of data migrations and participate in Agile & waterfall scenarios.
Performance Objectives:
- Contribute to the successful implementation of the Data Migration Framework.
- Become an SME for the underwriting system in allocated projects.
- Develop high-quality code that adheres to TMHCC development standards.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Unit testing?, * High Proficiency in MS-SQL Server, TSQL, MS-SSIS, MS-SQL, MS-SSRS
- Knowledge of insurance data, including London Markets and general insurance
- Familiarity with common underwriting or claims systems (e.g. Sequel Eclipse, Guidewire, Iris)
- Experience in unit testing code
- Strong understanding of code management and deployment tools (e.g. DevOps, Bitbucket, TFS)
- Confident working in an Agile development environment
- Hands on experience of ETL Control Frameworks (extract, cleanse, enrich, transform, and load routines)
- Database administration skills and performance tuning databases
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in financial services, preferably Specialty Insurance
- Confident creating SSIS packages using BIML or similar tools
- High proficiency in maintaining reference and master data sets in SQL Server MDS
- Confident deploying code to environments using TFS or similar tools
- Good understanding of finance systems (e.g., Peoplesoft, Bottomline)
- Good knowledge of reinsurance data (e.g. XLPRO)
- Experience with Autorek reconciliation software
- Knowledge of HVR data access/integration tools
- Familiarity with cloud data archiving solutions (AWS S3 and Athena)
