Timewax delivers resource planning software to rapidly evolving service organisations. We are looking for an experienced developer that wants to join our team to help scale and further innovate our platform. These are a few examples of exciting projects you can work on:

• Building a chatbot as a new user interface to interact with our application

• Implementing AI beyond just LLMs: using solver engines to make planning recommendations

• Improve our data model and queries to improve performance and scalability There are also a lot of other cool things to work on depending on your background and interests, ranging from front-end work with React and TypeScript to DevOps engineering on our Kubernetes platform or backend development in Kotlin. • Daily standups and weekly meetings to discuss progress If you want to develop yourself in certain areas or if you want to brush up on your knowledge, you can follow some online courses that we will of course pay for. Our stack We don't require experience with a specific programming language or tool, but you get bonus points for familiarity with at least some of the tools in our stack, like:

• Kotlin with Spring Boot for backend development

• MySQL, Redis and increasingly also PostgreSQL (e.g., for PGVector) for data storage

• Kafka as a message queue with Debezium for CDC

• Kubernetes on Google Cloud

• Functional programming, domain-driven design & test-driven development If that interests you, you can also work on other parts of our system, like our front-end codebase or mobile applications. " The team We do have an office in the Netherlands and this is where the majority of our team is based, but several of us work remotely, including from Portugal and Guatemala.We have a team with:

• Eleven developers in the team with seven different nationalities

• The majority of the developers is fairly experienced

• A (former) comedian working as a full-stack developer

We're especially excited about candidates that have experience with developing applications on top of LLMs and planning optimization using constraint satisfaction programming. For example:

• Experience with Spring AI, Langchain4j or equivalent frameworks for chatbot development

• Exposure to the academic discipline of operations research, specifically constraint satisfaction programming using tools like OptaPlanner, Gurobi or Google OR-Tools If you are a smart developer with real-world experience and a passion for technology we're confident that you can learn on the job. Other things we are looking for are:

• Being able to communicate effectively in English

• At least 5 years of experience

• A good grasp of best practices (e.g., testing)

• Experience designing and building API's & integrations If you don't have experience with JVM but know another language (e.g., Haskell, Erlang, Swift, F#, OCaml, TypeScript), that is also acceptable. Things that we will be looking for, but are not a hard requirement as long as you are motivated to learn about them:

• Experience with Kafka and, to a lesser extent, Debezium

• Experience with functional programming and domain-driven design
