Job description
You will be assigned to working within the client delivery team taking responsibility for the full completion from current status and as found condition of the delivery status with taking delivery of the robust Configuration Management process application and the final delivered requirements inline with the regulatory and businesses processes across the multiple and diverse class 1, 2 and 3 systems (active and passive) to the final handover preparedness and where appropriate to the point of the final acceptance working group sign- off stages, with no or an informed agreed forward actions plan inline licensee commitments if required.
You will be responsible as the Configuration Manager for a range of key construction projects closures within both the Power and Defence (client) industries.
You will be responsible for the delivery of the key requirements including:
- Register of managed baselines (having been through gap analysis and confirmation process to ensure the correct baselines are being established and managed).
- Baseline owners register (baseline interfacing to support owners accountable for the quality of the content held within the baseline).
- Integration with project area to ensure all baselines can be mapped, understood, and information is accessible, and accurate when required.
- Integration with the project lifecycle delivery package and engineering teams to ensure that the baselines are updated, maintained at project delivery/handover is robust and successful.
- Facilitate, Manage, Mediate, Support and Resolve blockers and issues encountered.
- Show presence, establish working relationships and techniques to gain completion success.
- Provide status and report visibility, of successes, needs and closure strategies.
- Establish, implement and maintain formal audit processes to check that Configuration is being managed internally and externally across the project.
- Establishment and maintain the agreed standards to be followed by the site teams and support the delivery improvements to gain the successes targeted, and report accordingly status and blockers, with were possible providing solutions balanced with governance.
- Identification of the Baselines, and gaps that need to be captured and managed to completion.
- Configuration management - procedure development, enhancement and integration with the Change Process.
- Integration with Information and Knowledge Management plans (Baseline basis of final design information, parameters, settings Mapped to storage locations).
- Integration and impact assessment with other License Conditions (10, 12, 36, 23, etc. to name by a few).
- Support configuration control of documentation generated by the internal engineering and project team.
- Establish the As Found Condition for correction an completion on completion ready for handover preparedness.
- Support the management of the document management system being used.
- Provide oversight of the contract deliverables and interfaces within the defined handover processes and procedures established.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Category C+E driving licence, Any valid issuer for GB license?, Do you have experience in Project management?, * Minimum of 10 Years' experience of the high end regulatory industry preferred in a similar role, that is demonstrable in complex assets and facilities (Nuclear)
- Have demonstrable industry understanding of configuration management or the fundamental blocks established as to build on , with minim of construction projects handover, operations regulator understanding and used of effective validation requirements.
- Founded understanding of RCA techniques and the methods associated to determine route causse and have a clear appreciation of the required approaches to non-conformances, error, gaps identification, design closure and remedy of resolutions.
- Knowledge and understanding of safety critical systems and specifications including the appropriate legislation, standards and directives along with the management of appropriate activities such as FMECA, HAZOP, HAZID.
- Knowledge of passive and active systems, systems integration and assets to class 1 , 2 and 3 for complex assets and facilities with the knowledge from requirements for the fill lifecycle of detailed design, including Substantiation and Equipment Qualification assessment to final stage commissioning and handover.
- An understanding of design phases and integration across the full V cycle, with design validation and verifications, with version management and control.
- Experience of Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (hardware and software), Security, Mechanical Handling, Process, Ventilations, Bespoke Assets, Civils and Structural integration for applications in critical assets, machinery, radiological monitoring and process plant.
- Experience of designing/ leading and particular completion of active and passive systems packages.
- Demonstrable and sound technical knowledge of theoretical and practical design and operations aspects of system engineering of passive assets and facilities of similar high security nature.
- Experience with plant and documentation configuration management.
- Demonstration to Design, Construction and Delivery Issues and Gap Identification, evidencing, and case build-up as to apply resolution to open points, blockers encountered.
- Demonstrable Evidence of the full understanding of the full life cycle of a complex asset in the nuclear or similar heavily regulated industries.
- Understanding of passive and actives assets for Function Design, Technical and Performance Specifications Development and Writing.
- An awareness of how the component engineering, system aspects align and integrate within a complex asset and project environment that could translate into a latent defect or unwanted safety condition.
- A demonstrable track record of delivery and expertise in at least one of the core electrical, mechanical, civil, structural and architectural active and passive assets and facilities discipline specialisations, and general experience across the whole disciplines.
- Understanding of the key aspects of nuclear safety cases, and the classification requirements of potential hazard accident risks of Structures, Systems and Components qualification requirements such a Radiological, Chemo Toxic, Seismic, Fire, Flooding, and the likes.
- Experience in the design and bespoke design development and substantiation of Safety Instrumented systems in accordance with recognised Regulatory Safety Standards.
- The capability to deliver integrated system design solutions to the required standards, in the required timescales, supported by appropriate documentation for handover preparedness.
- An awareness of the construction full project life-cycle management, through all its phases and stages.
- A commercial awareness of project management to support technical knowledge and decisions impact.
- Understanding of a Highly Regulated Industries.

- Must have the ability to gain and obtain MoD Clearance level without Caveats., You should hold one of the following:
- HNC in Plant, Mechanical, C&I, Engineering, Civils or an equivalent qualification with a high emphasis on demonstratable Design.
- HND/ Degree Level in in in Plant, Mechanical, C&I, Engineering or equivalent qualification with a high emphasis on demonstratable Design , Construction and Site Operations Aspects.
- Incorporated Engineer or/ and working towards Chartership status.
- Member of a recognised institute.
