Job description
An established software business in Belfast is seeking an IT & Application Support Engineer to join its internal IT function. This is a hands-on role supporting day-to-day IT issues and business-critical systems, ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving and working closely with end users., You will act as a first point of contact for IT and application-related issues, supporting users across the business. The role involves a mix of general IT support and application support, requiring strong communication skills and a structured troubleshooting approach., * Provide 1st line IT and application support to internal users
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system issues
- Support internal business systems and applications
- Communicate clearly with users, keeping them updated on progress
- Escalate issues where appropriate and work with wider IT teams
- Run basic SQL queries to help investigate application issues
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a 1st Line IT Support or Application Support role
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills
- Logical, methodical approach to problem-solving
- Confident supporting a wide range of users
- Basic SQL knowledge is essential
Benefits & conditions
- £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience
- 34 days annual leave (including statutory days)

Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
- 1-hour lunch
- Fully office-based in Belfast
Interview Process
- Two interview stages
- Short SQL test (completed remotely, approx. 30 minutes)
