Job description

Be a part of it., The post holder's primary objective is to ensure Cygnet Health Care's Digital Infrastructure, Person Identifiable Data (PID) and other sensitive data types are protected from cyber threats. Working collaboratively with internal and external stake holders, helping to check or develop security aspects of design, build, implementation, operation, process, and policy, to ensure they are secure, resilient, and compliant with local and national standards.

They will assist with Cyber Security incident detection, response and recovery as well as the development, implementation, maintenance and testing of Cygnet Health Care's Cyber Incident Response Plan (CIRP) and Security Strategy.

They will work on and be actively involved with the development, implementation and maintenance of cyber security policies, controls, threat analysis, testing, assessments, auditing, reporting, detailed documentation, training, and other security activities. They will promote cyber security awareness, good practice and compliance amidst end users, service leads and other stake holders, helping to identify the risks, statutory requirements, and benefits, to ensure that high standards of cyber security are continually, efficiently, and effectively applied across the organisation. In particular, the post holder will:

  • Assist with investigating potential security breaches
  • Assist in the implementation of Anti-Virus/ Anti-Spyware
  • Monitoring of Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware
  • Monitoring of Security Patching
  • Implement and Monitor technical standards, including Cyber Essentials +, NHS DSPT, NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework and ISO27001-2022.
  • Ensure that new system designs meets security needs
  • Ensure that current systems meet security needs
  • Internal and external pen testing
  • Maintaining the ISMS system.

Key tasks & responsibilities:

Maintains awareness of new and emerging Cyber Security technologies, techniques, services, and tools, assisting with their benefit/cost analysis, business case, proof of concept, implementation, and promotion. Seeks awareness, and in some cases detailed knowledge of areas outside own area of expertise as appropriate. Undertaking such training or study as may be required to maintain, strengthen, or develop skills relevant to the post. Calling for and working effectively with additional expertise as necessary.
