Job description
In this role, you will spearhead one of the teams for the Central Tracking UI SDK within Delivery Heroâs Global Services unit. Based in the vibrant Glovo hub in Barcelona, your mission is to unify the visual tracking experience across our entire global ecosystem.
You will lead a specialized team of 4â6 iOS and Android engineers and serve as the strategic technical link between mobile platforms and our backend infrastructure. Your goal is to build a high-performance, native UI layer that integrates seamlessly into the customer apps of all Delivery Hero brands, supported by a robust and efficient BFF (Backend-for-Frontend) layer.
THE JOURNEY
- End-to-End Orchestration: Lead the development of native iOS and Android UI SDKs, ensuring they are perfectly synced with the backend services to provide a seamless data-to-UI experience.
- Architecture & API Contracts: Collaborate with Backend Engineers to design and govern API contracts that optimize the communication between the UI SDK and our global tracking infrastructure.
- Product Focus: Partner with your product counterpart and provide technical direction to your team, facilitating the design of feasible and iterative solutions aligned with the business needs.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a key bridge between the central team and regional brand engineers, navigating diverse codebases and technical requirements to ensure smooth SDK adoption.
- Lead & Empower: Manage and mentor your team of mobile engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, personal growth, and accountability.
- Quality & Reliability: Own the "Definition of Done" for the entire stack. Ensure rigorous testingâfrom screenshot testing for UI consistency to integration testing for backend-to-client contracts.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Own the tech metrics and KPIs for your team, ensuring full visibility into SDK performance, network latency, and integration health across all brands.
Requirements
- Leadership Experience: At least 1 year of experience formally managing an engineering team, with a proven track record of mentorship and technical guidance.
- Mobile-First, Backend-Aware: Deep technical knowledge of Android or iOS, coupled with a strong understanding of BFF architectures and how mobile clients consume backend services.
- API & Documentation: Proficiency in reviewing RFCs and technical documentation. You are comfortable reviewing API contracts and facilitating technical discussions between mobile and backend specialists.
- Design System Literacy: Experience working with or building Design Systems, ensuring UI components are scalable and themeable.
- Practicality: You are a resourceful technical guide who knows how to prioritize high-impact features and maintain a high bar for code quality in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Full professional English proficiency.
- Bonus Points: Experience with Flutter is a plus.
