Job description
We're seeking an experienced Data Scientist to enhance device identification and classification using advanced analytical and data-science methods. You will work with large-scale, network-derived datasets and design robust statistical and logical models that increase the accuracy, consistency, and coverage of device classification. This is a hands-on role with end-to-end ownership-from analysis and model design to implementation and validation. You'll translate complex data signals into reliable, high-quality classification outcomes. Key Responsibilities * Analyze device behavior and network metadata to extract insights that improve device classification. * Develop, refine, and maintain device fingerprints and supporting content to ensure accuracy and consistency. * Research new device types, functions, vendors, and operating systems to broaden classification coverage. * Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and pattern detection to identify classification gaps and propose improvements. * Collaborate with engineering and data teams where needed while operating independently on daily tasks. * Adjust analysis for customer-specific environments when required.
Requirements
Do you have experience in TCP/IP?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, or equivalent senior experience. * Hands-on experience with ML/AI techniques for classification, anomaly detection, or behavioral modeling. * Background in cybersecurity, network protocols, IoT/OT/medical devices, or device identification. * Experience working with taxonomies, content frameworks, or classification systems. * Familiarity with large-scale data processing or cloud environments. * Strong understanding of computer networks (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, TLS, HTTP, ports/services, protocol behavior, fingerprints). * Data science expertise: Python, SQL, feature engineering, advanced data analysis. * Proven ability to design rule-based fingerprints and classification logic. * Ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives from concept to delivery. * Excellent analytical thinking and communication skills.
