Role description

As a Embedded Hardware Engineer , you will contribute to the further development and growth of advanced battery management systems used in transportation applications. You will focus on the embedded hardware domain, specifically schematics, PCB design, prototyping, validation and the transition to production.

You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team and collaborate closely with other hardware, software and systems engineers to continuously improve system performance, reliability and manufacturability.

Your responsibilities

• Translate system improvements and ideas into clear hardware requirements
• Design schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer
• Build prototypes and perform hardware testing and validation
• Maintain technical documentation
• Align with other engineers on interfaces, integration and design decisions
• Provide second-line support for hardware related issues
• Support supplier and manufacturer selection and supply chain activities, You will be joining a technology-driven engineering company that develops battery energy storage and battery management systems for demanding applications in the transportation sector. The organisation operates at the intersection of embedded electronics, power electronics and system engineering, delivering safety-critical hardware that is used in real-world, high-impact environments.

The client works closely with system integrators and end customers, and is involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and development to validation, production and long-term support. Projects are technically complex, regulated, and require a high level of reliability and quality.

You already hold a valid EU work permit or EU nationality (visa sponsorship is not available for this position)

• Preferably already living in the Netherlands or nearby region
• A BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience in embedded hardware development
• Experience with analog, digital, mixed-signal and power electronics
• Familiarity with board-level EMC concepts
• Experience with Altium Designer
• Knowledge of communication interfaces such as CAN, SPI, I²C and IP-based protocols
• Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus

A competitive salary of up to €5,400 gross per month, depending on experience

• 25 vacation days per year plus 13 ADV days
• Possibility to work partially from home (1 day per week)
