Job description
- Design policy-driven, API-first storage automation using Ansible, Python, and Terraform
- Build reusable modules for provisioning LUNs, file shares, snapshots, replication, and migration
- Integrate with CI/CD (Jenkins/Tekton/GitHub Actions) and ITSM/CMDB for change and audit
- Embed security (RBAC, secrets, encryption) and observability (metrics, logs, traces)
- Standardise runbooks and enable squads via documentation and enablement sessions

We are seeking a Storage Automation Specialist to join our team in Sheffield from February 9, 2026, to September 30, 2026. This role offers a competitive rate of £377 and requires working on-site three days a week. In this position, you will lead the automation strategy and delivery across SAN/NAS/DPS platforms, ensuring compliant, repeatable, and observable storage provisioning for OpenShift/Kubernetes workloads.
Requirements
- Strong Ansible/Python/Terraform experience in storage automation
- Knowledge of SAN/NAS/DPS platforms (Dell EMC, Pure, NetApp, Data Domain, Cisco/Brocade)
- Understanding of CSI, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and GitOps practices
- Experience in regulated environments with audit and compliance requirements
- SME level expertise in storage technology and automation
