Job description

We're looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our growing in-house product and technology team. This is a hands on role for a designer who enjoys working closely with Product Team during discovery and Engineers during delivery, and who wants to deepen their experience across the full product lifecycle.

You'll be working across our Mobile and Web applications that are used daily by our drivers, customers, and operational staff, with your work directly impacting enterprise customers and hundreds of drivers every day.

The role is based in our Birmingham office, with a hybrid working approach and flexibility to spend more time in the office if you prefer.

What you'll be doing

  • Design intuitive and visually engaging user experiences across web and mobile platforms.

  • Work closely with Product Managers to support discovery activities such as problem definition, user journeys, wireframes, and early concepts.

  • Engage with users and translate product requirements and user needs into clear user flows, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.

  • Collaborate with Engineers to ensure designs are feasible, well-understood, and implemented to a high standard.

  • Translate designs into implementation-ready assets and specifications, working closely with engineering teams to ensure accuracy and design quality.

  • Contribute to, evolve, and help govern our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the platform as we continue to grow and mature it.

  • Support usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback, research, and data.

  • Provide design leadership through clear communication, prioritisation, and stakeholder management, helping to align product, engineering, and business teams around shared outcomes. * Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints in your design decisions.

  • Continuously improve the quality and usability of the Engineius platform.

Requirements

Do you have experience in UX?, * Experience in a UI/UX or Product Design role within a digital product team.

  • Strong UI design skills, with a good eye for layout, typography, and interaction design.

  • Solid understanding of UX principles and user-centred design practices.

  • Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.

  • Confidence collaborating with Product and Engineering teams, as well as managing relationships with a range of stakeholders across the business.

  • Ability to explain, justify, and communicate design decisions clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

  • A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful problem-solving and polished UI work.

  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end concepts is a plus.

  • Experience with animation or motion design tools is beneficial but not essential.
