Job description
As a member of the Corporate Management Team, the Director of Digital Services will provide strategic leadership, corporate governance, and professional direction across all digital, information, and health records services. You will champion digital transformation and innovation to deliver safer, more sustainable, and modern integrated health and social care services.
You will lead a Directorate with an annual budget of £85 million and a workforce of 1,600 staff, spanning digital operations, strategy and programmes, innovation, information management, health records, and business and resource management., * Provide executive leadership for Digital Services, ensuring digital, information, and health records services fully support clinical, operational, and corporate strategies.
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of digital solutions that support both clinical and non-clinical services.
- Drive the digital transformation agenda across NHSGGC, maximising opportunities from digital, data, and informatics to improve patient care and organisational performance.
- Actively shape and influence regional and national Digital strategy, representing NHSGGC at senior national forums and working closely with national teams to delivery digital programmes.
- Ensure robust stewardship of financial, workforce, and technological resources, delivering value for money within defined budgets.
- Oversee information governance, data quality, cybersecurity, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Enable innovation by working closely with clinicians, service leaders, academic partners, industry, and the wider innovation community.
- Ensure the effective collection, analysis, and use of information to support population health, performance management, and national reporting requirements.
Requirements
You will be a credible and inspiring senior leader with substantial experience operating at executive or board level in a complex organisation. You will bring:
- A strong track record in leading large scale digital, information, or technology services.
- Experience of delivering transformational change in complex, resource-constrained environments.
- The ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including clinicians, senior managers, national bodies, and external partners.
- Deep understanding of digital strategy, information governance, data analytics, and technology-enabled service redesign.
- Excellent leadership, financial management, and governance skills.
Experience within healthcare or the public sector, and knowledge of national digital health policy, would be highly advantageous.
