Job description

We are seeking an exceptional Director of IT to lead and evolve the Technology and Data function across our Gleneagles and Estelle hotel and club brands, spanning four UK properties.

This is a senior leadership role with clear accountability for ensuring that Gleneagles' technology and data platforms are reliable, secure, well-architected, and continuously evolving to meet the needs of a complex, high-service hospitality environment. You'll also take ownership for modernisation of the core technology and data platform estate, the definition and governance of enterprise architecture and integration, and the delivery of business-led transformation and process improvement through technology.

You'll take great pride in ensuring our technology and data systems are not just operationally sound, but are actively leveraged to improve decision-making, simplify processes, enhance the experience for our guests and our people, and support future growth.

The role is ideally based in Scotland, with responsibility for technology and data platforms across four UK properties, including sites in both Scotland and England. Regular travel to operational sites will be required., * Leading the Technology and Data function through senior capability leaders, with direct accountability across IT Operations and Service Delivery, Data Operations, Data Engineering and Analytics Enablement, Technology Platforms, Enterprise Architecture, Integration Solutions Enablement and Transformation Delivery, Portfolio and Governance

  • Ensuring operational excellence across these capability areas collectively, architectural integrity, platform evolution, and the successful delivery of business-critical change.
  • Taking end-to-end ownership of the enterprise technology and data platform estate, including performance, resilience, security, and cost effectiveness
  • Leading our IT Operations and Data Operations from the front, ensuring platforms support a 24/7/365 hospitality environment
  • Accountable for data platforms, data pipelines, and data engineering capability, delivering trusted, timely data for analytics, automation, and AI, you'll also ensure continuous improvement of service quality, platform reliability, and user experience across all technology touchpoints
  • Sponsoring and providing the governance of incident, problem, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities
  • Defining, owning, and governing a coherent enterprise architecture spanning applications, data, integration, infrastructure, and security
  • Leading the modernisation, upgrade, and rationalisation of the core technology platform stack, reducing technical debt and improving scalability and resilience
  • Managing the enterprise integration strategy, ensuring reliable, secure data and process flows across hospitality systems, digital platforms, ERP, and analytics
  • Ensuring architectural principles such as security-by-design, data integrity, resilience, and scalability are embedded across all platforms and initiatives
  • Acting as the senior technical authority, providing architectural direction and challenge to vendors, partners, and internal teams
  • The senior technology and data partner to the business, you'll work closely with leaders across Operations, Guest Experience, Finance, Commercial, and People Culture
  • Leading technology-enabled process improvement, ensuring platforms simplify operations, improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and enhance service delivery
  • Championing the use of advanced analytics, intelligent automation, and agentic AI solutions to drive productivity, insight, and customer enhancement
  • Translating business strategy into a prioritised transformation and platform roadmap, focused on solutions, outcomes and measurable value
  • Owning the governance and prioritisation of technology-enabled change, working through the portfolio and delivery capability
  • You'll have oversight of front-end digital and guest experience platforms, ensuring they integrate cleanly with core systems and data, alongside executive sponsorship of finance ERP and enterprise systems transformation, where required to modernise core processes, controls, and data
  • Together with ownership of information security, data protection, and regulatory compliance obligations, you'll lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams across IT Operations, Data Engineering, Architecture, and Delivery
  • Taking ownership of Technology and Data OPEX and CAPEX budgets, vendor relationships, and commercial governance
  • Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations; playing your part in making their stay with us luxurious in every way

Requirements

Do you have experience in Project management?, * You have fantastic senior leadership experience, owning enterprise technology and data platforms in a complex, customer-facing environment, with incredible results in defining and governing enterprise architecture and integration strategies

  • Experienced in leading core platform modernisation and upgrade programmes, you also have a very strong capability in business partnering and technology-enabled process improvement
  • You've delivered data-driven decision support, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities and you've proven exposure to front-end digital transformation and finance ERP or enterprise systems programmes
  • Cybersecurity, data protection, and operational risk are all second nature to you
  • You have strong project management skills, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • A strong communicator, you realise the power of information; you're driven to support and help others, with little room for ego you converse effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • You know what great looks like, how to lead change, elevate a service culture, and drive consistency
  • Progressive in your thinking, you're curious, and exhibit a restlessness and ambition both for yourself and the business, understanding that to be successful and have sustained impact, you also need to be diligent, highly organised, and commercially minded
