Job description

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the Desktop Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, maintaining desktop infrastructure, and ensuring the smooth operation of end-user computing environments. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, deploying systems, and supporting users both remotely and on-site.

About the Role

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.
  • Work closely with the offshore Service Desk team to ensure smooth escalation from call to closure
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Android devices
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate repairs or replacements.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications, Active Directory, and remote access tools.
  • Ensure endpoint security through antivirus, encryption, and patch management.
  • Assist with IT asset management and inventory tracking.
  • Document support activities, solutions, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to support infrastructure and project work.
  • Onsite presence in Rowan House to support walk-ups and VIP support
  • Visiting depot locations to complete the modern desktop refresh project

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, * Proven experience in a desktop support or IT technician role.

  • Holds a UK driving license and happy to travel to depot locations across England
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, and Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with imaging tools (e.g., Autopilot) and remote support tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive and professional attitude
