Job description

  • Own the design, implementation, and evolution of backend services and APIs written in Golang
  • Drive technical decisions with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability
  • Lead complex features from concept to production
  • Review code and provide technical guidance to other engineers
  • Collaborate closely with product, frontend, QA, and infrastructure teams
  • Identify and resolve systemic issues, including performance and stability problems
  • Contribute to defining backend standards, best practices, and architecture guidelines

Requirements

Do you have experience in UNIX?, * 5+ years of professional software development experience, primarily backend-focused

  • Strong expertise in at least one backend language (e.g. Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or Node.js)
  • Deep understanding of API design (REST and/or GraphQL)
  • Strong experience with SQL databases and data modeling
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures
  • Proven experience designing systems for scalability, resilience, and performance
  • Strong testing mindset, including unit, integration, and e2e testing
  • Confident with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and production deployments
  • Experience working with the command line in Unix systems

Nice to Have

  • Experience with column oriented DBMSs or data warehouses (ex. Clickhouse, BigTable, Amazon Redshift)
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes)
  • Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ)
  • Familiarity with observability tooling (logging, metrics, tracing)
  • Experience mentoring engineers or acting as a technical lead on projects
  • German fluency
