Job description

Data plays a crucial role in L'Oréal's research and innovation activities to propose always more performant and sustainable cosmetic products.

Inside the Algo, Data and LabAutomation Tech platform L'Oréal R&I, the Beauty Tech Data Team is a growing group of people who are passionate about the emerging technologies in Cloud, Data, ML, GenAI etc … The team is composed of Cloud Data Architect, lead Data Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Delivery Managers.

With technologies such as GCP, Databricks and PowerBI, we build our scalable and always updated data platform to integrate the different data sources and to expose a unique and universal view of all data inside the Research and Innovation. We cooperate with the international hubs on the three different continents, we help research teams to verify the quality of data, to cross and leverage the potentialities of data in their Analytical and Artificial Intelligence use case., As a Senior Data Engineer inside the R&I Beauty Tech Data Team, you will build the end-to-end data integration pipeline from input layer to exposition layer in respecting the best practices. With other members of the team, you guarantee an optimum functioning of the platform by always optimizing the existing and proposing adapted architecture design for the new needs. You will also cooperate with the experts from the Global Beauty Tech Data Team and our partners like Google, Microsoft, Databricks to leverage the most updated knowledge.

In addition, for a concrete data product development lifecycle, you will be in contact with the delivery team to ensure the delivery roadmap, work with the métier to understand their requirement and support the Data Analyst or Data Scientist for their data consumption.

  • Build the data pipelinewith existingtemplateto ingest data with the best practices (CI/CD, Code Quality, Test coverage etc.) andmonitorthe production environment once deployed.
  • Designthe data modelling and data exposition to use case with Data Architectand ensure the security of data withAmaaS(Access ManagementAsAService
  • Defineandimplementuse cases to "chat"withanalyticsdata leveraging the l'OréalAgenticPlatform
  • Optimizein continual improvement ofthearchitectureusing serverless or managed serviceson top of Google Cloud Platform
  • Participate inthe workshops with the differentstakeholders: Data Product Owner,Data Analyst, Data Scientistto promote the data usage andtoleveragethe value of data
  • Work in an internationalenvironmentand cooperatewith hubs based in China, US, Brazil,Japanand India
  • Pilot the project implementation withexternalsresources:contractor,nearshore outsourcing
  • Aware ofnew technologyinnovation andrealize them withthe PoC project.

Requirements

First and foremost, we love people that are curious, collaborative, eager to have an impact and who value innovation, autonomy, and team spirit., * 5+yearsITtechnical experienceinData Engineering or Software Engineeringwith a first experience in architecture designin Cloud environment GCP

  • Experience designing data models and data warehouses and using SQL and NoSQL database management systems
  • Solid understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts (Gen AI models and Agentic frameworks), methodologies, and their practical application in business contexts.
  • GoodExperience with one general purpose programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, TypeScriptetc)andsuccess inimplementingapplications or APIs
  • Good understanding of theDevSecOPS
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Curiositytonew technologieswith good ability to learnquickly
  • Good resilience to face the challenge and resolve thedifficulty
  • Engineer's degree(Bac+5)orequivalent
  • Verbal and written communications skills (French and English), * Analytics toolslikePowerBI
  • Scientific backgroundwould be aplus., And finally, you may not be an expert with all requirements listed below, however, you must show great curiosity in understanding the non-mastered technologies.
  • Exhibit broad understanding of technology and the business intelligencelandscape.
