Job description

As a Senior .NET Developer, you will play a key role in shaping and evolving Magnit's European technology platform. You will design, build, and maintain cloud-native solutions that support critical business initiatives, while helping drive the technical direction of our systems in a fast-growing, international environment. You work closely with Business Analysts, Product Management, and other engineers to translate complex business needs into robust, scalable software solutions. In addition to hands-on development, you provide technical leadership, contribute to architectural decisions, and help ensure the long-term sustainability of our platform. We operate in an Agile, Scrum-based setup and value quality, ownership, and continuous improvement in a rapidly changing landscape.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and maintain .NET-based solutions for both new and existing applications
  • Play a leading role in delivering complex initiatives, starting with a market-wide sourcing platform for the Nordics region
  • Collaborate closely with Business Analysts and Product Management to shape solution design and technical approach
  • Contribute to and influence architectural decisions, including the design of cloud-native and microservice-oriented solutions
  • Take ownership of code quality, security, performance, and maintainability across the systems you work on
  • Actively support the evolution of the Magnit Platform on Microsoft Azure, leveraging services such as Azure App Services, Azure Service Bus, Azure Search, and Azure Data Factory
  • Support the gradual modernization of legacy applications (e.g. ASP.NET WebForms, ASMX), helping migrate functionality towards a modern, cloud-native architecture
  • Mentor and support other developers by sharing knowledge, reviewing code, and promoting engineering best practices
  • Identify technical risks and improvement opportunities early, contributing to a sustainable and future-proof platform

  • Backend: .NET (Core / 6+), Entity Framework, SQL Server
  • Frontend: Angular
  • Cloud & Platform: Microsoft Azure (App Services, Service Bus, Search, Data Factory)
  • Architecture: Distributed systems and microservice-oriented solutions

Requirements

Do you have experience in Microsoft SQL Server?, * 5+ years of professional experience as a .NET Developer in complex or large-scale software environments

  • Strong experience with Azure-based architectures and building distributed or microservice-oriented systems
  • Proven ability to design software solutions that are scalable, secure, and maintainable
  • Experience contributing to architectural decisions and making technical trade-offs
  • Comfort working in Agile/Scrum teams alongside product, business, and engineering stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring other developers and providing technical leadership without formal line management
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex challenges into practical solutions
  • Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus; experience working in an international environment is a plus
