Job description

  • As an Embedded ADA Software Engineer, you will develop real-time embedded software in ADA on a Power PC. Your responsibilities will include testing the embedded software, generating test requirements and scripts for unit, subsystem, and system-level testing on both host and target platforms. You will run tests, analyze results, and utilize target test facilities such as debuggers, probes, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Furthermore, you'll be tasked with documenting the software effectively.

Requirements

  • We are looking for an Embedded ADA Software Engineer who has experience developing in the ADA programming language and is motivated to produce reliable, high-performance, standardized, and well-documented software. Candidates should have experience programming embedded software on a Power PC and testing embedded software using various test facilities, such as debuggers, probes, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Furthermore, familiarity with DOORS and model-based development, either in SysML or UML, is required. A solid understanding of standardized bus systems and protocols, along with excellent analytical and design abilities (including review and critical analysis) is essential. We value candidates who are keen to work on novel products where the software is time and mission-critical, and who can communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including Systems Engineering, Electronics and Electrical, and Test and Validation.

Benefits & conditions

We are a world-class defense organization located in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, and we are currently looking for an Embedded ADA Software Engineer subcontractor for an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of extensions. The role will likely require onsite work four days a week (Monday to Thursday), although we offer a four-day workweek option. The hourly rate is £70.00 (Umbrella), and any overtime worked beyond the standard 37 hours per week will be compensated at 'time and a quarter.' We anticipate a one-stage video interview as part of the selection process. Please note that the role falls within IR35 regulations.
