Job description
- Lead a talented product engineering team to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and thoughtfully designed technology
- Act as a bridge between vision and delivery, translating strategy into software that improves customer outcomes
- Coach and mentor a team of around five engineers, fostering an environment that supports growth and innovation
- Champion engineering best practices and help embed a collaborative, commercially aware, and outcome-focused culture
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and third-party partners to tackle complex technical challenges
- Contribute to architectural discussions, embedding automation, testing, and quality standards
- Drive initiatives to improve engineering processes, making systems more resilient and teams more empowered
- Ensure technology built serves customers better, manages risk responsibly, and meets business goals

Requirements
- Proven experience leading software engineering teams, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment
- A strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, modern SDLC, CI/CD, and software design principles
- Experience working across software, data, quality, and platform engineering
- Strong supplier management experience - THIS IS ESSENTIAL
- A pragmatic approach to risk and compliance, balancing innovation with appropriate controls
- A genuine interest in new technologies, automation, and improving how teams work
- Ability to mentor, inspire, and elevate team members
