Job description

  • Lead a talented product engineering team to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and thoughtfully designed technology
  • Act as a bridge between vision and delivery, translating strategy into software that improves customer outcomes
  • Coach and mentor a team of around five engineers, fostering an environment that supports growth and innovation
  • Champion engineering best practices and help embed a collaborative, commercially aware, and outcome-focused culture
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and third-party partners to tackle complex technical challenges
  • Contribute to architectural discussions, embedding automation, testing, and quality standards
  • Drive initiatives to improve engineering processes, making systems more resilient and teams more empowered
  • Ensure technology built serves customers better, manages risk responsibly, and meets business goals

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading software engineering teams, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment
  • A strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, modern SDLC, CI/CD, and software design principles
  • Experience working across software, data, quality, and platform engineering
  • Strong supplier management experience - THIS IS ESSENTIAL
  • A pragmatic approach to risk and compliance, balancing innovation with appropriate controls
  • A genuine interest in new technologies, automation, and improving how teams work
  • Ability to mentor, inspire, and elevate team members
