Power BI Platform Lead

Kennedys is seeking a skilled Power BI Platform Lead to join our Data Services team. You will play a dual role: delivering high-quality reporting solutions for the business and helping mature our Power BI environment. You will move the firm beyond ad-hoc reporting by building Certified Semantic Models, establishing governance standards, and contributing to our Power BI Centre of Excellence (CoE).

Team

Kennedys IT team is responsible for delivery of a responsive, effective and timely IT support service to the firm's employees and clients. They devise and implement operational processes and procedures in order to provide reliable and available IT systems to the firm., * Design clean, insightful, and performant Power BI reports and dashboards.

• Architect and maintain reusable "Certified Semantic Models" using Star Schema principles to ensure a single source of truth
• Specific focus on advanced DAX (measures, time intelligence) and Power Query/M (data transformation).
• Troubleshoot slow reports and optimize data models using tools like Performance Analyzer and DAX Studio.
• Define and document development standards, naming conventions, and visualization guidelines for the wider business.
• Manage workspaces and oversee releases using Deployment Pipelines (Dev/Test/Prod).
• Implement robust Row-Level Security (RLS) to ensure data privacy and compliance.
• Act as a subject matter expert, reviewing code and guiding self-service users across the firm.
• Optimizing the integration between the Power BI Service and Snowflake.

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Proven experience (3+ years) developing complex reports and composite models.

• Strong SQL skills for querying data warehouses and creating views.
• Knowledge of Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema).
• Ability to translate technical data concepts for non-technical legal and business stakeholders.
• Experience in working with Snowflake is desirable.
