Junior Test Engineer

Are you a Backend Test Engineer with strong automation skills and interest in DevOps? Do you thrive in an autonomous, cross-functional team? We are looking for a skilled Test Engineer who likes to test and automate to improve the quality of the high-end messaging interface Alliance Messaging Hub. You will be willing and able to learn about the business of the financial applications that we develop and help with continuous improvements.

The team: By joining the Product Group you will create and deliver customer-centric products in an Agile way, build an ecosystem around the SWIFT platform, and innovate with clients, as part of an Agile tribe or team. The On Premises tribe offers best-in-class solutions to SWIFT users that need to control their global transactions - our customers use our products to safely store and process their financial transactions with unparalleled reliability and performance, whilst seamlessly integrating them into their upstream and back-office applications. The On Premises tribe aims to responsibly innovate its offering and offer the best customer experience at the highest quality standards. Today, the tribe's portfolio consists of two groups; a stack of connectivity products (Alliance Gateway, Alliance Gateway Instant) providing customers with the window into SWIFT, and a messaging stack consisting of Alliance Messaging Hub (a high-end messaging interface), and Alliance Warehouse (a recently launched long-term messaging archive solution). For this position in particular, you will be part of one of the Alliance Messaging Hub squads working on the core aspects of the product: connectivity to the SWIFT services and message exchange.

What to expect: As a Test Engineer, you will be working closely with internal customers, technical analysts and other engineers to develop your product/service. You will design, execute, automate tests in line with agreed requirements, and will work with other engineers of your team to provide the requested functionalities end to end. You will also assist with enhancing and maintaining continuous integration/deployment frameworks, and you will constantly strive to further automate and optimize where possible. You will build and maintain strong partnership with other delivery organizations inside SWIFT, and as part of an Agile team, you will be flexible to temporarily take on other assignments (analysis, development, testing, …) when needed.

Do you have experience in XML?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree in computer science, or equivalent

b) Backend testing affinity You have the ability to test, reproduce, troubleshoot complex scenarios for application to application protocols. This can be related to connectivity, cryptography, message protocols, message syntax or (exceptionally) APIs. This work can also be in the area of interactions with COTS products, e.g. Oracle DB, IBM MQ, Elastic Search.

c) Technical Skills Must:

• Strong coding skills: Java Very valuable:

• Knowledge of test platforms (Selenium, Cucumber)

• Experience with scripting language primarily in Unix Shell, Perl, Python

• Experience in continuous integration/delivery build environment: GIT, Jenkins/Cloudbees, Ant/Maven, coverage and static/dynamic code analysis tools

• An understanding of containerisation technology like Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience with agile tools (JIRA, Xray, Confluence, BitBucket, Github)

d) Subject matter expertise Very valuable:

• Experience with SWIFT protocols: FIN, MX, SWIFTNet
• Experience with relevant technologies: XML, PKI and SSL
