Job description
- As data engineer you are at the center of the Information Management process and plays a key role in the lifecycle management of the corporate data assets.
- You are responsible for understanding business needs & rules in terms of reporting and analytics and for translating these needs into comprehensive data definitions, data models and data quality requirements.
- In your day-to-day job, you rely on a thorough understanding of the business processes and its underlying data in order to translate raw data into actionable information and insights.
- You also work on various data-related topics like the implementation of the Enterprise Data Model and TMF API's.
As Data Engineer, you:
- Master data ingestion techniques (functional mapping source-target) and structure the data into comprehensive models (logical data models).
- Structure the semantic layer and articulate the data presentation around business data definitions.
- Ensure data consistency for a specific subject area (Customer Base Management, Revenue & Dunning, Usage, Logistics, Order Management, Customer Interaction Management).
- Build and maintain in depth knowledge of the data and its availability and use in a business context.
- Functional understanding of the solution/data landscape to be the bridge between the business and IT teams.
- Responsible for producing or reviewing key project deliverables related to reporting and analytics domains (SRS/HLD).
- Responsible of Data Products creation and evolution though its entire lifecycle by ensuring reusability and consistency.
- Appointed as Data Custodian for the Data Products under its responsibility.
- Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GCP, understanding all components and services (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Spanner, etc.) to guide architecture decisions and ensure optimal cloud solutions.
- Data Vault modeling knowledge.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Scripting?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * University degree and a minimum of 3-5 years experience in designing cost effective IT solution.
- Previous exposure to IT outsourcing delivery model (on/offshore) is a plus.
- Proven experience in IT partner and contract management is a plus.
- Data modelling expertise, Cloud (GCP) expertise, ETL tools expertise, SQL/Scripting skills (Python), Master data management process, DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD), API creation/management.
- Analytical thinking / Problem solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
- Customer-oriented mindset with flexibility and stress resistance to adapt to changing needs.
- Bilingual in English and French, or English and Dutch.
