Job description

As part of our remote sensing team, you will work primarily with SAR imagery (including ESA Sentinel-1)and optical imagery, while contributing to a platform that increasingly integrates multiple satellite providers and sensing modalities.This role is designed for a mid-level data scientist or remote sensing engineer who enjoys applied remote sensing, working with complex geospatial data, and seeing algorithms evolve from research into production systems., + Apply spatio-temporal analysis to detect, classify, and monitor physical activity and assets over time.

  • Design methods that generalise across different satellite providers.
  • Combine SAR with complementary data sources where relevant.
  • Build and improve production-grade processing pipelines.
  • Collaborate with engineers to integrate outputs into APIs and customer-facing applications.
  • Improve model robustness, performance, and interpretability., *
  • Develop and maintain remote sensing and computer vision pipelines.
  • Apply machine learning, statistical, or signal-processing techniques.
  • Contribute across the full lifecycle from exploration to production.
  • Work with heterogeneous data sources and evolving schemas.
  • Improve processing performance and scalability.
  • Participate in code reviews and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in remote sensing or applied data science.
  • Strong Python proficiency.
  • Hands-on experience with SAR data (Sentinel-1 strongly preferred).
  • Experience with satellite time series and geospatial data.
  • Familiarity with rasterio, shapely, geopandas, xarray, or equivalent.
  • Ability to deliver production-ready workflows.
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals., + Experience with ESA Sentinel missions.
  • Exposure to change detection, object detection, or anomaly detection.
  • Experience with multiple satellite data providers.
  • Familiarity with Airflow or similar tools.
  • CV / ML frameworks (OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Cloud experience and SQL/Postgres.
