Job description
Introduction Our client is a medium sized Defence Consultancy who are supporting the Defence Contractor with Systems Engineering activities. They are looking for people who have worked across the whole Systems Lifecycle, with excellent stakeholder and requirements gathering/management skills. You must have experience working within a Defence/Nuclear environment for this role. Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with 3 days on site per week. Key responsibilities Work within a growing technical architecture team to deliver secure, reliable IT systems across the full delivery lifecycle. Support projects from concept and requirements through design, implementation, testing, and deployment, adapting to changing client needs. Operate effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams, providing specialist Systems Engineering expertise. Lead technical analysis of business and user requirements, shaping delivery approaches and producing clear architecture and design outputs.
Requirements
Collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders in fast-paced, evolving project environments. Develop test and integration strategies, support capability growth, contribute to client engagement, and mentor junior team members. Skills & experience Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a focus on quality. Minimum of three years' experience as a Systems Engineer, including requirements and stakeholder management. Experience with verification and validation in complex programmes, using MBSE tools such as UML, SysML, ArchiMate, and DOORS or equivalent. Solid technical knowledge of system security, enterprise or defence architecture, secure system design, and MOD frameworks. Experience in agile environments, consultancy work, and collaborating with subject matter experts. A relevant engineering or computer science degree (2:1 or above preferred), with professional certifications or registrations considered a plus.
