Front End Developer

• Prioritise accessible code that continuously improves the user experience of our applications
• Advance our applications' codebases by contributing work that conforms to idiomatic patterns in front-end development and design
• Use designs, wireframes, application conventions, and written requirements to build new features; be comfortable with contributing some of your own designs
• Review and test the code of others
• Work closely with the rest of the development team and collaborate with other colleagues and stakeholders to deliver new features successfully
• Engage with the wider development of the applications beyond the front-end

Do you have experience in React?, * Curiosity and enthusiasm for technical work and its associated challenges

• A proven ability to deliver complex features, from requirements to deployment
• Happy to take initiative and solve problems
• Ability to develop (or already possess) deep domain knowledge of our applications' areas
• Significant professional experience with JavaScript, specifically React
• Day-to-day experience of writing automated tests to accompany front-end code
• Comfortable using version control systems (we use Git and GitHub)
• Experience with test driven development (TDD) and/or continuous delivery would be beneficial
• Strong and willing communicator

• Attend our office in Cheltenham a couple of times per week

Founded in 2019, CY2 is a Cheltenham based cyber training, exercise and consultancy company. Our two core products, Exmato and Arena, have been developed to provide engaging training and exercise environments to a variety of public and private sector clients. Our team also provides bespoke cyber training in addition to table-top and live-fire cyber exercises. We seek an enthusiastic and curious front-end developer to join our development team. Experience with React is essential as we expand its use on the front-end of our applications. We are a stable, experienced team with a focus on getting high-quality software to our customers as fast as possible. We aim to work with agility, focussing on doing what works best for the team.
