Full-Stack Developer - WordPress & Laravel (+ AI-Driven Projects)

This is a hybrid role, three days iN OFFICE (MON,TUE & WED) & THURS & FRI WORKING FOR HOME

We've got an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning digital team in a fast-paced and rewarding full-stack developer role.

You'll be working on a wide range of projects - from large-scale WordPress websites for national leisure brands to bespoke Laravel platforms for specialist clients. Alongside this, you'll contribute to the development of in-house tools and services, including new AI-powered features that enhance site functionality, performance, and user experience.

We're looking for someone who thrives in a varied role, is excited by both front-end polish and back-end logic, and has a natural curiosity for emerging technologies - particularly AI and automation.

This is a hands-on role in a collaborative studio, where you'll get to work closely with designers, developers, and strategists to build performant, scalable digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and support modern websites using WordPress (primarily) and Laravel (where applicable)* Work on internal tools and services that support search, automation, and content delivery* Contribute to AI-driven features and APIs that enhance our platform capabilities* Collaborate with designers to build pixel-perfect, responsive front-end experiences* Write clean, modular, well-documented code* Help shape architectural decisions and best practices* Contribute to ongoing maintenance and improvements across a wide range of digital projects

Essential Skills

• Proven full-stack development experience* Strong experience with WordPress (custom themes, ACF, Gutenberg, etc.)* Solid knowledge of PHP and Laravel* Confident working with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services* Experience with JavaScript (preferably Vue or Alpine.js)* Comfortable with Git version control and modern deployment workflows* Able to manage time and projects across multiple deadlines

Desirable Skills

• Experience building AI integrations (OpenAI, Claude, vector databases, etc.)* Familiarity with search technologies (e.g. Algolia, Meilisearch)* Understanding of headless CMS setups* Previous work with WooCommerce or ecommerce integrations* Experience in a digital agency or multi-project environment* Exposure to modern dev tooling (e.g. Vite, Tailwind, Docker)
