Job description

Position Overview: Atreides is seeking a detail- and quality-oriented Knowledge and Documentation Lead to design, build, and maintain a documentation-as-code framework for customer-facing documentation, while also owning internal knowledge assets including employee onboarding and training materials. This role is responsible for establishing clear standards, scalable processes, and quality controls that ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and trusted across the organization.

This individual will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, and Program Management to translate complex technical systems and data products into clear, usable documentation for both external customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in evolving environments, can design durable documentation systems (not just write content), and brings a strong sense of ownership over knowledge as a core product capability.

Team Principles:

At Atreides, we believe that teams work best when they:

  • Remain curious and passionate in all aspects of our work

  • Promote clear, direct, and transparent communication

  • Embrace the 'measure twice, cut once' philosophy

  • Value and encourage diverse ideas and technologies

  • Lead with empathy in all interactions

Responsibilities:

  • Establish automated or semi-automated quality assurance processes, to ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and completeness

  • Own customer-facing documentation, including product documentation, data dictionaries and schemas, change logs, release notes, and reference materials

  • Ensure Program Managers are informed of relevant changes in a timely, clear, and consistent manner

  • Ensure documentation enables customers to understand and correctly use the data and information they receive

  • Own internal knowledge assets such as employee onboarding documentation and internal reference materials

  • Enable other teams to contribute to and maintain internal knowledge without degrading quality

  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Program Management teams to gather inputs and validate accuracy

Requirements

Do you have experience in Scripting?, * Experience owning or leading technical, customer-facing, or internal documentation initiatives

  • Experience working with data dictionaries, schemas, or technically complex products

  • Familiarity with documentation-as-code concepts such as version control, structured content, and automated workflows with an understanding of branching, reviews, and change management for technical content.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy

  • Ability to design processes and business logic, not just write content

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly

  • Comfort operating independently and building structure in environments with evolving processes

  • Ability to read, write, and reason about structured and semi-structured data and technical artifacts (e.g., API definitions, configuration files, schemas), and to translate these into accurate, maintainable documentation

  • Practical experience using scripting or automation to generate, validate, or maintain documentation and knowledge systems, and integrating documentation workflows into broader engineering and product toolchains.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting or documenting large-scale data platforms and analytics pipelines operating on large, complex, or rapidly changing datasets.

  • Experience working in military, defense, intelligence, aerospace, or other national-security-adjacent environments, with an understanding of mission-driven operations, security constraints, and regulated workflows.

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive salary

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans

  • Remote work environment

  • Additional benefits like flexible hours, competitive vacation time and parental leave

While meeting all of these criteria would be ideal, we understand that some candidates may meet most, but not all. If you're passionate, curious and ready to "work smart and get things done," we'd love to hear from you.     If you require alternative methods of application or screening, you must approach the employer directly to request this as Indeed is not responsible for the employer's application process.
