Job description
We are seeking an experienced IT professional to join our team as a Senior IT Support Engineer. In this role, you will act as the escalation point for complex technical issues, maintain and improve our cloud and on-premise infrastructure, improve our IT Infrastructure, including cloud services, endpoints, networks and security. You will also lead on IT projects and initiatives. You will work closely with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) and internal stakeholders to ensure our IT systems are reliable, secure, and efficient., * Serve as the main point of contact with our MSP for escalated IT support issues.
- Manage and resolve tickets escalated from the MSP Service Desk.
- Maintain and administer our Azure environment, including servers, networking, and security configurations.
- Maintain and support our Microsoft 365 environment, including Azure Active Directory (AAD), Exchange Online, Intune, Defender for Business, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Administer and monitor backup systems and disaster recovery processes.
- Monitor servers, services, and network performance; proactively identify and resolve issues to minimise downtime.
- Support IT projects, including migrations, implementations, upgrades, and rollouts.
- Identify opportunities for infrastructure improvements, create plans, gain approvals, and implement changes.
- Troubleshoot and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, VPNs, and wireless networks.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge bases.
- Monitor systems, identify performance issues, and take proactive measures to prevent downtime.
- Ensure IT security compliance and best practices are maintained across all systems.
- Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools to improve efficiency.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior IT staff or MSP team members.
Requirements

- Strong experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, and related cloud technologies.
- Solid Knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange Online, Intune, and endpoint security solutions.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, VPNs) is advantageous.
- Ability to manage IT projects, upgrades, and rollouts effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Strong documentation and communication skills., * Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator, M365 Enterprise Administrator, Security Administrator, or equivalent experience.
- ITIL Foundation or similar service management knowledge.
- Security-related certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security)
