Job description
As an Electric Motor Design Engineer, you will work in a dedicated team on the development of electric traction motors for automotive applications. Your responsibilities will be:
- Electromagnetic design/simulation and optimization of electric traction motors for automotive applications using modern simulation tools and optimization algorithms
- Identification and implementation of innovative motor and manufacturing technologies
- Development and continuous improvement of the current simulation workflow and optimization environment
- Cooperation with scientific partners
- Support for testing and industrialization of electric machines
- Calibration of simulation models to test results
- Definition and assessment of electric machine requirements
- Cooperation and engineering alignment with System and Electronics Department
- Collaboration within global eMotor Engineering teams (Mechanical Design, Testing)

Requirements
We are seeking someone who is passionate about electric machines, drivetrains and e-mobility. The ideal candidate should possess an independent work style, a flexible mindset with a willingness to develop, and a communicative attitude that makes them a great team player., * Degree from a technical university (Master / PhD) in the field of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Physics
- Experience in the design of electrical machines and knowledge of electrical drivetrains
- Experience with FE tools for electromagnetic/thermal design, preferably Ansys MotorCAD and Maxwell 2D/3D
- Programming skills for workflow automation and tool scripting preferrable using Python
- Insight into industrialization of electric motors is an advantage
- Experience in automotive requirements including relevant guidelines and codes
- Knowledge of requirements management system tools like PTC Integrity is an advantage
- Fluent in English, German is advantageous
Benefits & conditions
It is important to us to offer a fair and attractive remuneration package. The gross monthly salary for 38.5 hours according to the collective agreement for the automotive industry is at least € 4.400,- (14 x p.a.) for this position. Overpayment based on relevant experience and qualifications is common practice.
