Job description
You will contribute to Barco CTRL, our scalable software platform that simplifies control room workflows, deployment, and serviceability, while maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity. CTRL enables secure access to sources from any location and interaction with content on any video wall or operator desk. In this role, you will:
- Focus on the low level visualization layer powering dedicated embedded devices.
- Ensure seamless hardware and software integration across Linux based systems, optimizing performance, reliability, and security.
- Refactor and maintain shared components across the CTRL stack, reducing technical debt and improving maintainability.
- Use telemetry and data insights to debug, analyze, and optimize performance across the stack, while contributing to the evolution of our telemetry framework.
Lead Accountabilities
- Lead and oversee the strategic design and development of complex engineering projects.
- Conduct advanced research to support product requirements and architectural choices.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, design specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate cross functionally to align product vision with implementation.
- Facilitate project meetings and guide critical technical decisions.
- Perform rigorous testing and validation to ensure quality and compliance.
- Mentor engineers across levels and foster engineering excellence.
- Drive innovation, process improvements, and platform sustainability.
- Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and, when applicable, customers.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in system level design and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in C, C++ and Python.
- Experience building solutions on Linux platforms.
- Knowledge of multimedia frameworks (e.g. GStreamer) and codecs.
- Experience writing USB or other low level device drivers.
- Hands on experience with embedded systems.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication and cross team collaboration abilities.
- Passion for improving processes, tools, and developer experience.
Your Background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in software or embedded engineering.
