Job description

  • In this position, I will be responsible for the development and maintenance of various software applications, databases, and reports that support different business divisions. My key daily duties will include providing guidance and coaching to junior team members, delegating tasks, resolving technical issues, and leading specific projects. I will also collaborate with all business departments to gather software requirements and identify the need for software development, upgrades, or new systems. I am committed to adopting and promoting a continuous improvement mentality within the development team and will manage software projects from start to finish.

Requirements

  • To be considered for this role, you must have at least 5 years of commercial experience programming with VB.Net and VB6. You should possess a working knowledge of agile software development processes and experience using MS Azure DevOps and MS SQL Server. Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively are essential. Additionally, excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of the complete software development lifecycle are required. While not essential, experience in C# and .NET programming, IP Networking Design and Administration, and Microsoft IT Infrastructure (including Server, 365 Deployments, Azure, Active Directory) would be beneficial. You must have the Right to Work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship.

This role is office-based, with occasional work-from-home options available after completing the probation period and with prior management approval. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.
