Job description

Join Telent's ICT Services Team, supporting the critical ICT environment used by our Blue Light emergency services customer. As the Senior Engineer ICT Lead , you will play an integral role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficient operation of a highly critical ICT estate - while managing and developing a small team of ICT Engineers.

This is a hands-on Lead role, combining deep technical capability with team coordination, operational oversight, and continual service improvement. Your expertise will help ensure that mission-critical systems remain resilient, reliable, and aligned to industry best practices.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage day-to-day activities of the ICT engineering team including incident / request management, annual leave, on call rota and performance reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for ICT processes and technologies
  • Escalate any issues within the engineering team to the Head of Client Delivery in a timely manner
  • Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure, business / mission critical applications and services in line with the ITIL service catalogue.
  • Implement and monitor security best practices across all ICT systems.
  • Create and maintain documentation as ICT relates to system configuration, mapping and processes
  • Infrastructure life cycle management and capacity planning
  • Liaise with third party suppliers to ensure resolution to agreed SLA's and standards
  • Following a period of training and assessment, form part of the 24x7 duty rota (1 in every 4/5 weeks)
  • Work within the framework and guidelines of ITIL processes and policies, ensuring alignment to best practice
  • Carry out any other ancillary tasks, deemed within your capability, as specified by the Line Manager to support service requirements and the wider NS function.

You are a proactive, technically strong ICT professional who thrives in a complex environment, communicates effectively, and enjoys leading others while maintaining high operational standards.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in ITIL?, * Proven experience in ICT infrastructure management.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and compliance standards.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience of working within a service level driven environment
  • Security Cleared - SC Clearance, NPPV3 Level
  • Full UK Driving License, * Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect, or similar are highly desirable.
  • Experience in ICT engineering roles, with capability to lead a team.
  • Ability to improve on current skill set and keep up to date with relevant technologies
  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt and prioritise customer workloads
