Job description

Are you organised, tech-savvy, and ready to support a busy GP practice with your admin and IT skills. We are looking for a 1st line IT & Administrative Support Assistant to join our team at Paxton Medical Group. This role combines general administrative duties with IT support to help keep our systems running smoothly., As the IT & Administrative Support Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting both the practical operations and the public-facing aspects of our practice. From assisting with daily admin tasks and troubleshooting software to identifying and testing new solutions to any potential issues., Familiarise yourself with our software systems, including EMIS Web, DOCMAN, AccuRx, Microsoft Office, and Windows. You'll assist staff with basic troubleshooting and help ensure these systems are used correctly.

Administrative Duties: Handle day-to-day admin tasks such as data entry, record management, appointment coordination and health recalls, ensuring accuracy and maintaining confidentiality of patient records and other sensitive information.

Project Assistance: Support ongoing projects aimed at improving practice workflows or introducing new software solutions. Assist in documenting processes, monitoring project progress, and offering input on potential improvements.

Staff Training & Support: Provide clear, friendly guidance on software systems and assist in onboarding new staff with basic IT instructions.

Data & Document Management: Help organise and manage electronic records, ensuring our systems remain up-to-date, secure, and compliant with data protection protocols.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Organizational skills?, IT & Administrative Proficiency: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows is essential, with a willingness to learn our specific tools (EMIS Web, DOCMAN, and AccuRx).

Understanding of more Technical IT Concepts (Advantageous): Knowledge of basic IT concepts such as network management, data security, and software troubleshooting would be beneficial, although not imperative. The ability to grasp and work with more technical aspects as needed will be a plus.

Strong Organisational Skills: Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills, especially in managing records and sensitive information.

Communication Skills: Friendly and approachable, able to support staff members of varying technical abilities, as well as communicate clearly on social media.

Adaptability & Initiative: A proactive approach to learning, with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities and take the initiative to identify & improve processes.
