Job description
A Configuration Engineer is one of the organization's material master data stewards. They are responsible for reviewing new part number requests and ensuring that the product in the same series is aligned, all required characteristics are populated, and the relationship of the part number to other existing parts is documented. The scope of this role also includes managing the technical library for inspection teams and ensuring the control of third-party proprietary data, export-controlled data, and data integrity is adhered to.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Review requests for new parts to be created and populate data appropriate for the part
- Create or adjust existing data governance rules as needed to ensure part number profiles maintain a high level of data quality
- Provide feedback to the manager of data governance when needed to create or align the master data policies
- Use data management tools to ensure data quality levels are achieved
- Review data quality metrics to determine if data governance rules need adjustments
- Adhere to established best practices for material master data quality
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Do you have experience in Project management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Management, Information Management, Engineering)
- 10+ years of experience in quality or engineer roles for aerospace industry
- Strong understanding of materials, specifications, and part standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments and levels of the organization
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated project management and process improvement skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans
- Ethical and responsible, with a commitment to quality and compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A customer-centric approach to quality, always striving to exceed customer expectations
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
