Job description

The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing scalable data pipelines and architectures. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data integration, processing, and analytics. The Data Engineer will also play a key role in optimizing data workflows and ensuring the quality and integrity of data used across the organization.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Build database systems of high availability and quality in coordination with data engineers
  • Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner
  • Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
  • Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures and standards
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
  • Work with data architects and other IT specialists to set up, maintain and monitor data networks

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * BS/BA in Computer Science or a related and or 7+ years of proven experience as a database administrator preferred

  • Build database systems of high availability and quality in coordination with data engineers
  • Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner
  • Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
  • Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures and standards
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
  • Expertise with SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or other relational database management system
  • Certification in SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or other relational database management system * Knowledge of database structure languages, such as SQL or SQL/PSM
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards for Microsoft SQL and Oracle database systems
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
  • Familiarity with database management best practices
  • Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools
  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions, such as Amazon RDS or Azure SQL Database
  • Strong understanding of database queries
  • Knowledge of database design and theories
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
