Job description

Data & Migration Leadership

  • Own and lead the end-to-end Data & Migration workstream across multiple initiatives and client engagements
  • Define and deliver data migration strategies, plans, and timelines aligned with wider programme objectives
  • Act as the senior escalation point for all data-related risks, issues, and dependencies

Data as a Product

  • Treat data as a core product, shaping how it is modelled, governed, surfaced, and consumed
  • Own requirements for data pipelines, reporting, and analytics capabilities
  • Ensure data solutions support business, regulatory, and operational needs

AI & Advanced Data Capabilities

  • Apply AI/ML-aware thinking to data pipelines, quality processes, automation, and insight generation
  • Identify opportunities to use AI for data validation, anomaly detection, reconciliation, and reporting efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to shape forward-looking data capabilities

Migration Delivery

  • Lead all phases of the data migration lifecycle, from discovery and design through to cutover and post-migration support
  • Drive formal cutover sign-off through validation, reconciliation, and stakeholder approval

Stakeholder & Programme Management

  • Serve as the primary data contact for internal teams and external clients
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Establish strong governance, including RAID management, progress reporting, and clear communication

Requirements

They are looking for an experienced Senior Data Lead to take full ownership of data strategy, data delivery, and data migration initiatives across complex internal and client-facing programmes.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role, suited to someone with 5-10 years' experience who combines strong data fundamentals, delivery expertise, and product thinking, alongside a practical understanding of AI-driven data capabilities.

You will work closely with engineering, product, client stakeholders, and senior leadership - taking initiative, shaping solutions, and ensuring data is treated as a strategic product across the organisation., * 5-10 years' experience in senior data roles (e.g. Data Lead, Data Product Manager, Data Programme Lead)

  • Proven experience leading data migrations across complex systems, ideally within FinTech or financial services
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Data modelling, mapping, transformation, and validation
  • End-to-end data migration methodologies and best practices
  • Experience delivering data pipelines and reporting solutions

Technical & Conceptual Skills

  • Solid grounding in core data principles, including data quality, governance, lineage, and reconciliation
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern data tooling
  • Comfortable working closely with engineers, architects, and analytics teams
  • Strong awareness of AI/ML concepts and their application within data platforms (hands-on coding not required)
