Job description
We are seeking a structured and technically experienced Configuration & Release Manager (m/f/d) to join our centrally organized software organization at Quantum Systems. In this role, you will own the definition, tracking, and successful delivery of software releases across Program Increments (PI) in a SAFe-light, agile environment.
You will act as the central authority for software configuration and release readiness, working across flight-critical and mission-critical embedded software that together form a complete software release for our unmanned systems.
What is your Day to Day Mission:
- Define and baseline the software release configuration at the start of each Program Increment (PI)
- Own and continuously track the release configuration throughout the PI lifecycle
- Coordinate and drive releases in close collaboration with software development, testing & integration, and product management
- Act as the central point of contact for release status, risks, and dependencies
- Track and manage tickets, changes, and issues across Jira, ensuring traceability to releases and release candidates
- Build and maintain release dashboards in Jira, providing transparency on progress and quality
- Prepare and support software-internal Go/No-Go decisions
- Actively participate in the Release Board and support final software release approvals
- Ensure all release artifacts are complete, consistent, and stored in Artifactory
- Continuously improve configuration and release management processes and standards

Requirements
Do you have experience in Software development?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Strong background in embedded software development
- Hands-on experience with Matlab/Simulink, C, and C++
- Solid understanding of embedded system architectures and how flight-critical and mission-critical software interact within a drone system
- Experience working with Linux-based systems
- Understanding of client-server and distributed system concepts
- Ability to reason on system and architecture level, understanding dependencies and integration impacts
- Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and product teams
- Structured, quality-driven mindset with a strong focus on release stability
- Experience working in agile, PI-based development environments (SAFe-light)Nice to have:
- Experience with Rust
- Experience with GitHub-based workflows, branching, and versioning strategies
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems
- Experience with configuration management concepts (baselines, variants, traceability)
- Experience working with safety-critical software environments
