About the company
Finally: One app to book & use all shared mopeds, bikes, (e)-scooters, cars, taxi's & public transport in Europe! We are umob, your Booking.com for mobility. No more switching between apps in all different cities and countries.
With umob, we bring our users from A to B, worry free. Jump on one of the e-scooters at the corner of your street, hop on the train and take the taxi or public bike in Paris. A oui. It was never this easy! We are working on a livable future by building 'the' all-in-one mobility app, connecting all the current rental and mobility apps out there in one platform. No more switching: easy, safe and efficient.
1 app, 1 verification. And 1 place to discover, book and pay. There is only 1 planet after all.
Shared mobility has been going through a major phase of growth in the past few years, with different operators in purple, blue, green, yellow and red popping up in different cities. The good news is that it shows the drive to change cities and consumer behaviour, giving the streets back to our people and not to cars. In order to reduce CO2 emissions and create more space in our environments, we need to travel differently. However, with all of these alternatives popping up, consumers end up having 30 different apps on their phone - all requiring a new verification and payment process. Not very convenient and not very sustainable. Et voilà, after months of building we have launched the umob app, offering direct access to over 30,000 vehicles with one account. You can now book all your favourite scooter providers, ring a taxi and buy your public transport ticket via one app.
With our internal tech team, we're building towards 500,000 vehicles live by the end of the year by fully integrating parties like Cooltra, felyx, Check, GO Sharing, Lime, Bolt & BIRD. With the acquisition of MaaS Global at the beginning of this year, umob owns the longest history of data in Mobility as a Service and has the highest density in number of vehicles in Europe. That requires improving our software, scalability and performance of the app every single day. Next to that, we continuously challenge ourselves to develop new and interesting features for our users to make sure we offer a better alternative than private cars.
The connecting DOTT. Some of our big why's:
* Strong and experienced founding team with Bibi Jorissen (CEO), Raymon Pouwels (CCO), Don van Arem (COO) & Ahmed Omar (CTO);
* Make cities and countries more livable & sustainable;
* Simplify and unify shared mobility across Europe; become #1 MAAS platform;
* Recently funded;
* Interesting STAK participation for our employees;
* 1 app and 1 verification for the consumer to use shared mobility like (e-)bikes, e-scooters, cars, public transport, taxi and you name it;
* Fast-paced learning and growth in an environment of autonomy and responsibility;
* A prime spot in Rotterdam, easy to walk (or scooter) from Rotterdam Central Station and next to the Witte de Withstraat!
