Job description
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Internal Tooling team, a cross-functional group responsible for building and maintaining the commercial tooling that powers our internal operations. These tools are used daily by teams such as Sales, Merchant Operations, Marketing, Collections, and Underwriting, and include platforms like Salesforce and Braze, as well as our custom JavaScript/TypeScript UI.
This role is critical to improving our operational efficiency and enabling our internal users to better serve our customers as we continue to scale. You will guide a team that sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and business operations-ensuring the right capabilities are built at the right time.
- Lead and develop a cross-functional engineering team, including front-end, back-end, and CRM-focused engineers.
- Partner closely with our Product Manager, Designer, and a wide range of business stakeholders to define and execute a compelling roadmap.
- Drive delivery of high-quality tools and features that enhance our customer-facing and internal operational capabilities.
- Navigate complexity created by supporting both a newly launched multi-product platform and an existing single-product platform, balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic direction.
- Establish and evolve team processes, especially as we merge two separate teams into a single high-performing unit.
- Foster a healthy, inclusive engineering culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences, helping stakeholders understand priorities, trade-offs, and rationale behind decisions.
- Provide thoughtful, empathetic people leadership, creating an environment where individuals can grow and do their best work.
Requirements
- Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams, ideally across front-end, back-end, and CRM/RevOps tooling domains.
- Strong understanding of how sales, marketing, or operations teams interact with internal tooling-and the constraints and opportunities that come with those workflows.
- Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and change, including organisational restructuring, evolving product priorities, or scaling needs.
- Skilled at building strong relationships with peers and business stakeholders, with the ability to influence without authority.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and rapid decision-making is essential.
