Job description

Are you a growth-driven marketer who thrives at the intersection of community, content, and player insight? Aquila Interactive is looking for an Organic Growth & Community Marketing Manager to own and scale player communities across upcoming PC and console titles. You'll drive organic growth across key platforms, lead community-focused initiatives, and help shape how our games are communicated to players. This is a remote role open to candidates within European time zones.

Aquila Interactive is an innovative publisher and developer dedicated to creating intricate and immersive strategy games. Our mission is two-fold: 1) to develop rich, complex, and engaging games, and 2) to drive player contributions and engagement. We aim to distinguish ourselves by lowering the barriers for small teams and individuals to create and design content for our games.

As Organic Growth & Community Marketing Manager, you will own Aquila's organic marketing engine end-to-end. You'll be responsible for growing, activating, and retaining our player communities while driving measurable organic growth across key channels including Discord, TikTok, Reddit, Steam, and YouTube.

In this role, you will lead Aquila's organic marketing efforts end-to-end growing, activating, and retaining our player communities across channels such as Discord, TikTok, Reddit, Steam, and YouTube. You'll act as the bridge between players, developers, and the rest of marketing, turning insight into action, experimentation into repeatable growth systems, and development progress into compelling community narratives within a fast-moving, scrappy team.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute Aquila's organic growth and content strategies across Discord, TikTok, Reddit, Steam, and emerging platforms through experimentation, iteration, and learning.
  • Lead and scale Aquila's moderator program, including recruiting, onboarding, briefing, motivating, and aligning moderators with development and marketing priorities.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of developer diaries and development updates including patch notes, and co-lead game announcement, launch, and retention campaigns.
  • Partner closely with developers to shape, polish, and communicate game progress in a way that resonates with the community.
  • Monitor community sentiment, platform trends, and competitor activity, translating insights and feedback into actionable recommendations for developers and marketing.
  • Own organic social content strategy and execution in close collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager and Video Content Editor.
  • Write high-quality, platform-native copy across Discord, TikTok, Reddit, Steam, and other relevant channels.
  • Support broader marketing initiatives through organic amplification, messaging alignment, and copywriting.
  • Co-own influencer and content creator relationships and initiatives in support of organic and marketing goals.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Copywriting?, * 3+ years of experience in community, organic growth, or social marketing, within games or interactive entertainment.

  • Highly proactive and self-directed, with experience owning initiatives end-to-end in a remote, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success driving organic growth across Discord, TikTok, Reddit, and Steam, with a strong grasp of platform-native formats and algorithms.
  • Exceptional copywriting skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style across platforms, formats, and target audiences.
  • Comfortable working closely with developers to translate development updates into compelling community content.
  • Results driven mindset with the ability to track performance and turn insights into action.
  • Passion for strategy, management, simulation or story rich games is a plus.
  • Experience with basic static and video asset creation tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop, Premiere) is a plus., * Video Game: 2 years (preferred)
  • Community management: 2 years (preferred)
