Our Software License Management (SLM) Team plays a critical role in optimizing our significant software investments, ensuring compliance, and driving cost efficiencies across the globe. We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Software License Management Senior Analyst (Assistant Vice President) to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on Citi's operational effectiveness and financial performance by turning complex data into strategic insights., * Strategic Vendor & Cost Optimization:

  • Manage, track, and optimize large-scale software vendor products and relationships to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Analyze install, purchase, and demand data to proactively identify and seize significant cost-saving opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of long-term vendor strategies by collaborating with Procurement, Finance, and internal business partners.
  • Assist in continuous vendor performance management and optimization activities.
  • Contract Interpretation & Compliance:
  • Rigorously interpret and codify complex software contract terms, conditions, and entitlements.
  • Review new vendor contracts pre-execution, ensuring terms are fair, consistent, and comprehensible.
  • Partner with various business sectors to implement and operationalize control and transparency initiatives within the software review process, proactively safeguarding against vendor audits and compliance issues.
  • Lead communication and manage responses for software compliance attestation initiatives.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Generate comprehensive vendor baseline summaries to support demand management, renewals, deal negotiations, vendor audits, and compliance activities.
  • Perform detailed reporting on license metrics and spend patterns, briefing executive stakeholders with actionable insights.
  • Drive data normalization, communication strategies, and recovery efforts for the Software Inventory Control process.
  • Process Improvement & Communication:
  • Evaluate current SLM processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop clear process documentation.
  • Create compelling executive reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and contribute to internal communications, ensuring key information is shared effectively across relevant teams.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a technology planning, software asset management (SAM), or a related analytical role.
  • Proven experience interpreting complex licensing terms and conditions for enterprise software.
  • Technical Acumen:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (for complex data modeling and analysis), PowerPoint (for executive presentations), and Word.
  • Conceptual understanding of Information Technology infrastructure and software ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with Software Asset Management (SAM) tools and methodologies is a plus.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving:
  • Strong data analysis skills with an ability to distill complex information into clear, concise insights.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of collaborating with others to resolve challenges effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to introduce new ideas and processes that enhance performance and productivity.
  • Communication & Interpersonal:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex/sensitive information clearly and diplomatically to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Proven interpersonal and collaboration skills, fostering effective partnerships across multiple teams (Procurement, Finance, Business Units).
  • Organizational & Drive:
  • Proven ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a strong aptitude for mastering new tasks quickly.
  • Methodical approach to work, with a keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail under pressure.
