Job description

The role will involve extracting and transforming data, mapping and cleansing data for system migrations, and supporting business intelligence solutions, ensuring data accuracy and consistency throughout., * Extract data from accountancy and operational systems

  • Map source system fields to target system structures and document mappings
  • Cleanse, standardise, and prepare data for upload into new systems
  • Perform data quality assessments and validation checks
  • Support test loads, reconciliations, and issue resolution during migrations
  • Prepare and transform data using Power Query for use in Power BI
  • Support the development and maintenance of Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards
  • Ensure data models are accurate, well-structured, and performant
  • Assist in validating reports against source systems to ensure accuracy
  • Support refresh schedules and investigate data refresh issues
  • Support the use of Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) to improve data visibility and efficiency
  • Assist with basic Power Automate flows for data movement, validation, or alerts
  • Work with SharePoint lists or Dataverse as data sources where required
  • Help document Power Platform solutions and data processes

Requirements

Do you have experience in Xero?, We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Data Analyst to support data analysis, data quality, and data migration activities across the business. This role is ideal for someone early in their data career who is keen to build practical experience using Power BI and the Microsoft Power Platform., * Comfortable working with large datasets and structured data

  • Strong interest in Power BI, Power Platform, and business intelligence
  • Experience with accountancy or finance systems (Sage, Xero, CCH, IRIS)
  • Experience transforming data using Excel and/or Power Query
  • High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality
  • Ability to document data mappings, transformations, and processes
  • Clear communication skills when working with technical and non-technical users

Additional Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Power BI (datasets, reports, visuals)
  • Basic experience with Power Query (M) or SQL
  • Exposure to Power Automate or Power Apps
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Curious and keen to learn modern BI tools
  • Methodical and detail-focused
  • Comfortable working within defined governance frameworks
  • Proactive in improving data quality and reporting
  • Collaborative and reliable
  • Degree (or working towards a degree) in Data Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
