Job description

  • Coordinate migration activities across several business units, including scheduling, dependency tracking, and risk/issue management.
  • Act as a central point of contact between internal IT teams and the third-party migration provider.
  • Provide technical support during AD migration tasks, troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth execution.
  • Produce documentation, maintain project trackers, and organise both planned and ad-hoc meetings.
  • Facilitate clear communication and timely updates to all stakeholders.
  • Support out-of-hours work when required.

Requirements

This role supports a major Active Directory migration programme involving multiple business units. The AD Migration Engineer will work closely with a third-party migration provider and internal IT teams to coordinate activities, manage risks, and provide hands-on technical support throughout the migration process. The position requires strong technical expertise, excellent organisation, and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple stakeholders., * Strong knowledge of Active Directory Forests, Child Domains, Domain Trusts, SID History, Group Policy, and DNS.

  • Good understanding of Windows Server, enterprise applications (eg, Citrix, SQL), ACL-based permissions, and Entra ID (including AADConnect and Cloud Sync).
  • Experience with AD migration processes, ideally using Quest SaaS tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a security-first mindset.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, able to coordinate multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend work.
