Job description
The Cloud Desktop Engineer will play a crucial role in the Modern Desktop Program, focusing on the design, implementation, and support of cloud-based desktop solutions. Operating from London, this role supports a global transition from Legacy VDI infrastructure to modern cloud desktop environments, ensuring seamless deployment and enhanced user experience. Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud desktop solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.
- Collaborate with global teams to support the migration of users from on-prem VDI to cloud desktops.
- Monitor and optimise performance, availability, and scalability of cloud desktop environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to virtual desktop infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with regional and global regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 2 years focused on cloud desktop or VDI technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, global team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- experience with automation tools and Scripting, such as PowerShell and Terraform.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and enterprise change management processes.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty or Citrix Certified Associate.
