Job description

Every teacher wants to inspire their students with strong lessons and effective practice exercises. In reality, however, creating these takes a lot of time and energy. That's why we put all our expertise and experience to work to support teachers, so they can focus on what truly matters: high-quality education. Through our work, we contribute to our mission to help every child grow. You will become part of a driven and dedicated team with one clear focus: helping teachers develop lesson presentations, create practice materials, review student work, and everything that comes with it.

What will you do? As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you'll help shape the product, the technical direction, and the way the team works. This role comes with real ownership: you will help define what we build, how we build it, and how we validate it with teachers. You will work end-to-end: from shaping solutions with the product lead and designer, to shipping production-ready features, to instrumenting experiments and learning from data and user feedback. You'll build across frontend, backend, and infrastructure, and you'll use AI tooling to move faster and stay flexible as the product evolves.

Your role and impact o Build and evolve a prototype quickly and iteratively, together with the product lead and designer, then improve it based on real market feedback o Own full-stack delivery: frontend (React), backend (Python), and the cloud infrastructure needed to ship safely o Make smart technical trade-offs that fit an early-stage product: fast learning first, with a clear path to hardening and scaling o Set up foundations for speed: good developer experience, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and reliable environments o Use agentic coding and AI-assisted development deliberately to increase throughput, reduce context switching, and stay effective across the stack o Design and implement APIs and data flows that support experimentation (for example, feature flags, A/B testing, and analytics) o Ensure security and privacy are built in from the start, especially for anything involving student or teacher data o Collaborate closely and transparently with a lightweight process and high trust, while tapping into expertise across Futurewhiz when needed Our stack is: o Python back-end o React front-end o AWS Everything else is flexible. We will choose tools and patterns that help us learn fast and build responsibly, and we will adjust as the product matures., You thrive in small, agile teams where outcomes matter more than role boundaries. You are self-reliant, entrepreneurial in mindset, and comfortable with uncertainty. You like building something new, putting it in front of users, and iterating quickly., o A gross monthly salary of €4,900 - €5,700 per month (based on 40 hours, depending on experience) o 24 vacation days + 3 assigned days off + 1 skipping school day o Collective pension and health insurance o A €600 annual learning budget for your professional development o Unlimited access to external coaches through Inuka Coaching o Unlimited access to Goodhabitz training programs for professional and personal growth Additionally: o Lifetime access to StudyGo and Squla accounts o Office next to Bijlmer Arena station (with the possibility of getting a Swapfiets or an OV business card if you live over 7km from the office) o A MacBook for work o Payroll Giving option to contribute to a good cause o Healthy lunches at the office, unlimited good coffee, fresh fruit, and snacks o A Culture Crew that organizes fun activities like outings, pub quizzes, ski trips, and laser tag

Requirements

You have a broad engineering skill set and enjoy moving across frontend, backend, and infrastructure when the product needs it. You also actively embrace modern AI-assisted development and agentic coding approaches to extend your capabilities, speed up delivery, and stay adaptable across the stack. You bring: o Solid experience shipping production software as a senior engineer, ideally in fast-moving product environments o Strong backend skills in Python (API design, architecture, testing, maintainability) o Strong frontend experience with React and building user-friendly, high-performance web applications o Hands-on cloud experience running production services (AWS, GCP, Azure), including deployments, monitoring, and security basics o Comfort owning features end-to-end: from idea to implementation to release to iteration based on feedback o A pragmatic approach to engineering quality: you ship fast, but you don't ship fragile o A track record of using AI-assisted development responsibly (for example, code generation, refactoring, test creation, debugging) while maintaining strong engineering judgment o Fluency in English, written and spoken Nice to have (but not a must): o Experience with AWS specifically o Experience building AI-enabled product features (for example, with LLMs), including evaluation and quality safeguards o Experience with experimentation tooling (feature flags, A/B testing) & analytics o Experience setting up infrastructure as code and modern CI/CD pipelines
