Job description
We're recruiting a Mid-Weight Front-End Developer to join a growing digital agency based in Derby. You'll be building custom WordPress and WooCommerce websites across a range of industries. Working from Figma designs, building reusable component libraries, and shipping responsive, polished front-ends.
Requirements
The ideal person will come from an agency or in-house team, with a strong portfolio and a track record of delivering quality work. You'll have a sharp eye for detail, the confidence to own your builds from handoff through to launch, and the ability to manage your time across multiple projects without dropping standards., * 2-4 years' experience in a front-end development role, ideally agency-side, with a portfolio that demonstrates quality and range
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and PHP within a WordPress context
- Comfortable working with SQL for querying and managing data
- Experience building custom WordPress themes using Advanced Custom Fields
- Comfortable working from Figma designs and translating them into accurate, responsive builds
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver to a high standard
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to work closely with designers, PMs, and other developers
Desirable Skills
- Experience with WooCommerce, including custom product types, checkout flows, or payment gateway integration
- Basic understanding of performance optimisation
- Experience with Laravel or interest in expanding into full-stack development
- Involvement in QA, testing, or bug-fixing workflows beyond your own builds
- Experience with Advanced Custom Fields Flexible Content layouts
- Experience with design tools like Figma and Sketch (for receiving designs!)
