Job description
We're recruiting a Full-Stack Developer to join a growing digital agency based in Derby. You'll be working across custom WordPress builds and Laravel web applications. From eCommerce stores and data migrations to API integrations with ERPs, CRMs, and third-party platforms. If you enjoy solving complex problems and connecting systems, not just building front-ends, this is the role.
Requirements
The ideal person will come from an agency or in-house team, with experience across the full stack and a track record of delivering robust, production-ready work. You'll be comfortable picking up unfamiliar integrations, making smart decisions, and owning your builds from scoping through to launch., * 2-4 years' experience in a development role, ideally agency-side, with a portfolio or track record that demonstrates range and technical depth
- Strong proficiency in PHP, with hands-on experience in both WordPress and Laravel
- Solid front-end skills across HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript
- Comfortable working with SQL for database design, queries, and data management
- Experience building or maintaining API integrations with third-party platforms (ERPs, CRMs, payment gateways, stock systems, etc.)
- Ability to scope and estimate work, flag risks early, and make pragmatic decisions when requirements are ambiguous
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to work closely with PMs, designers, and clients when needed
Desirable Skills
- Experience with WooCommerce, including custom product types, checkout flows, or payment gateway integration
- Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or React
- Experience with data migrations - importing, transforming, or syncing large datasets between systems
- Familiarity with server management and deployment tools such as Laravel Forge, CircleCI or similar
- Experience working from Figma designs and translating them into accurate, responsive builds
- Understanding of performance optimisation
- Experience working with or connecting to platforms like NetSuite, Sage, or similar ERP/CRM systems
