Microsoft SQL Server DBA

• Design, configure, and manage Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL environments.
• Implement HA/DR, replication, and automation using PowerShell, T-SQL, and DevOps pipelines.
• Lead performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimisation.
• Enforce database security, encryption, auditing, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, ISO27001).
• Define, test, and execute backup and recovery strategies.
• Act as SME in projects, supporting DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Maintain documentation and promote database best practices; mentor junior team members.

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Significant hands-on SQL Server DBA experience.
• Strong experience across on-prem and cloud SQL (Azure/AWS).
• Deep knowledge of SQL Server 2016+, Azure SQL, T-SQL, SSIS/SSRS, and PowerShell.
• Familiar with monitoring tools (Redgate, SolarWinds, SQL Sentry) and IaC/automation.
• Skilled in performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and optimisation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and collaborate across multiple time zones.
• Leadership mindset with the ability to influence without authority.

Preferred

• Microsoft Azure Database Administrator certification.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or AWS RDS.
• Exposure to agile and DevOps practices.
